The 11,000 sqm university campus redevelopment in South Auckland aligns with government policy goals for social and economic development.
The main focus of the building is to provide high-quality and adaptable learning spaces to accommodate the growing campus, while also establishing a social and community hub that promotes connections across the campus for future developments. With its L-shaped design enclosing a new green quad, the building comprises 3-story and 4-story academic structures interconnected by an atrium.
The atrium acts as the heart of the building, serving multiple purposes as a versatile forum. Not only does it facilitate key circulation routes and collaborative social learning spaces, but it has also been thoughtfully designed to welcome and accommodate local community and business activities.
In this project, my role is to assist the educational team in designing the interior joinery package and construction drawing set.
