This hotel project presents a significant challenge. As an integrated interior designer, my responsibilities involve collaborating closely with in-house architects to comprehend the base-build architecture. Additionally, I must liaise with various external hotel design consultancy firms from Singapore, India, and Melbourne to understand their concept designs and ensure they can be feasibly executed in the Melbourne location.
Frequent communication with the Design Manager is essential to address design issues and collaboratively develop solutions during the documentation phase. Moreover, I undertake the critical task of reviewing documentation and FFE specifications prepared by multiple overseas consultancy firms. This process allows me to identify any issues and adapt the joinery drawings and schedules to meet Woods Bagot standards, while striving to retain the original design concepts as much as possible.
